How FFMatrix works

What each tool on the site is for, where the numbers come from and how fresh they are, so you know what you're looking at before the deadline.

FFMatrix is a set of free Fantasy Premier League tools. There's no sign-up for anything on the site today. This is a quick tour of what's here, where the numbers come from and how fresh they are.

Where the numbers come from

Prices, points, ownership, injury flags and fixture difficulty come from the official FPL game. Match stats such as minutes, goals, xG, shots and chances created come from Sportmonks, a football data provider.

Everything is fetched once a day, in the early hours after FPL's overnight price changes. Injury news and availability are checked again every two hours. Every stats page says at the bottom when its data was last updated, in UK time.

Your team

My team loads your squad from your FPL team ID (a number like 1234567), or you can paste the link to your team from the FPL site. It shows each player's next fixtures, minutes risk, injury flags and likely price change tonight, plus your points and rank week by week. We only read the public FPL data for that team, and the ID is remembered in your browser, not by us.

Finding players

Player stats is the big table: every player, sortable by points, form, minutes, xG, chances created, points per £m and more, and filtered by position, team and price.

Insights draws the same sort of numbers as charts, so the outliers stand out. Each chart names three players to target and three to avoid. There's a separate guide to reading them.

Compare players puts two to four players side by side, with a radar chart and their points gameweek by gameweek. Each comparison gets its own link, which is handy for settling arguments in a group chat.

The differential finder looks for players under 10% owned who are in form and have good fixtures coming up.

Every player also has their own page, with their season stats, gameweek log, price history, fixtures, minutes risk and price prediction. The player list has them all.

Fixtures and teams

The fixture ticker shows every team's next five to eight gameweeks, shaded by FPL's difficulty ratings, with blank and double gameweeks marked. You can sort it by the easiest run.

Each club has a team page with its fixtures, goals and xG for and against, clean sheets, top players, injuries and squad. Set-piece takers lists every team's penalty, corner and free-kick takers in FPL's order of preference.

Prices

FPL changes prices overnight, at around 01:30 UK time. Price predictions shows who is likely to rise or fall that night, how close everyone else is and how accurate the predictions have been. Price changes shows who actually moved, the biggest movers this season and the most transferred players this gameweek.

Gameweek and team news

The gameweek hub counts down to the next deadline in UK time and covers the last gameweek: the average and top score, the most captained players, chips played, the Dream Team and the top scorers. You can put every deadline in your calendar from there, with reminders a day and an hour before.

Injuries lists every flagged player with their chance of playing and the latest news. Minutes risk rates every player on how likely they are to miss minutes, from their recent minutes, starts and FPL's flags.

Getting around

Press / (or Ctrl+K) on any page to search for a player, team or tool. The All tools page lists everything in one place, and the grid button at the top right does the same from anywhere.

There's also a free FFMatrix bot for Discord. It posts deadline reminders, your mini-league's captains and live goals in your server. Here's how to add it.

What's coming

We're building tools that run on our own predicted points: who to captain, which transfer to make and when to play a chip. They'll come with a paid Pro plan for planning further ahead. The tool previews page shows where they've got to.

In the meantime there's a new article here every week, with team news and a captain pick before each deadline.
