The Insights page turns the season so far into six charts. Each one sets two measures against each other, splits the players at the median of each, and names who to target and who to avoid. This guide explains what they show and where they can mislead.
How every chart works
- Each chart shows up to 24 players: the top scorers this season at the positions you pick, who have played enough of their team's minutes. The minutes filter sets how much is enough.
- The dashed lines are the medians of the players drawn, so the four corners are relative to that group, not to every player in the game.
- One corner is shaded green and one red. Green is the corner you want; red is the one to be wary of. The target and avoid lists name the three strongest cases in each.
- Every number comes from matches already played. None of it is a prediction.
Attacking threat
Expected goals (xG) per 90 minutes against chances created per 90. Top right both shoots and creates, which gives two ways to score. Top left creates more than it shoots: assists, but fewer goals. Bottom right relies on finishing. The avoid list picks the most expensive players in the bottom-left corner.
Value
Price against points per game. The top-left corner scores above the median for less than the median price: the bargains. Bottom right costs more and returns less. Premium players often sit top right, which is fine: they cost a lot and deliver.
Minutes security
The share of their team's minutes a player has been on the pitch for, against points per 90 minutes. Top right plays nearly every minute and scores well when they do. Top left scores well per 90 but does not always play, so a pick can return nothing. Anyone averaging under 20 minutes a match is left out.
Fixture swing
This chart is about teams, not players. It compares the average FPL difficulty of each team's next two gameweeks with the four after, with easier fixtures to the right and up. Top left has a tough couple of weeks and then an easier run: a team to buy into soon. Bottom right is the opposite: good now, harder later.
Defensive routes
For defenders: clean sheets per start against defensive contributions per 90. FPL gives 2 points to a defender who makes 10 defensive contributions in a match, so a defender high on the chart can score in a game where their team concedes. For goalkeepers the second measure is saves per 90, worth a point for every 3.
Points mix
The top 15 scorers this season, with their points split into goals, assists, clean sheets, bonus and everything else: appearances, defensive contributions, saves, cards and goals conceded. Two players on the same total can be very different picks. Points from appearances and defensive contributions come most weeks, while goals and bonus come in bursts.
The limits
- Early in the season a few games can make a player look much better or worse than they are. Per-90 figures are the most affected, which is why the minutes filter is there.
- Medians move as you change the filters, so a player can change corner without anything about them changing.
- The points split is worked out from goals, assists and clean sheets, so it can be a point or two out for some players.
Use the charts to find names worth a closer look, then check fixtures, injuries and minutes on each player's page before you make a transfer.
